I'm glad you had a chat face to face with your friend.
and she said that to be honest, she did feel bombarded by too much information and felt like 'whoa,

For the times I've freaked out, over reacted (not in my mind but in the mind of non allergic folk), become frantic, emotional.....I am not sorry. I am sorry for how others might have perceived my reaction but I don't apologize for my intent as it comes from an honest and loving place. I might make different choices now in how I word things or approach a situation but I am not sorry for advocating my the safety of my son. I have learned so much in the past 2 1/2 years and I still have a long long long way to go. Along the way I have made decisions (such as bombarding others with too much info etc.) but that is what I did and I only was acting out of love for my child. I'm sure there will be many more circumstances that I will look back on and see how I could have changed how I confronted an issue . But again, nothing is done maliciously or without purpose. We all are doing the best we can and learning and growing as we go.

Take each situation, do the best you can and move on. The allergy journey never is boring and always seems to have a curve ball.

Yes, you're right BC - I didn't feel the need to apologize, but I did feel the need to modify the information I would offer to others in the future. I'm glad she told me, and I'll all this into account when a similar situation arises again.

Thanks for the all the insights!

DD 2004 Allergy to peanuts, egg, sesame, and new: lentils and chick peas
