I previously posted this in another spot but it was suggested I post it here as well to see if any one has any other advise.My son and I will be in Toronto for a lacrosse tournament and we will be staying in the dorms where each room will have a limited kitchen ie. microwave and fridge. His team will be eating in restaurants but I will be bringing food and making some for him while we are there which is for 10 days. I will not have access to a car as I have been told driving there will be difficult. So my question(I have never posted but I have read the forumns for a long time) to everyone is do you have any ideas of what kind of food I should bring and what could I make in this type of limited setting? His allergies are all nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and he has an anxiety disorder developed from his fear associated with all his allergies (he is 17).

Thanks to advise already given to me at the other spot I will be bringing a cooler to transport food for my son. My oldest son, who also has nut allergies but not sesame seed) is also on the team so we will ask for them to be roomed together to help eliminate any worry about cross-contamination etc with another team mate. If anyone has any suggestions for restaurants that don't have nuts or seeds (ha!) in the toronto area in case my son decides to eat out would also be helpful.

I travelled to Toronto last February with my peanut/nut allergic daughter. We flew and used taxis to get around town. I find it helps to go to chain restaurants we have been to at home. I also email restaurants in the area we will be staying to see what they will do to accomodate our allergies. I also follow up with a phone call to the chef. I call at a less busy time of day or leave a number for them to call.
