Lately I've been experiencing something that feels/looks like an allergic reaction. Since about last year, after almost everything I eat, I feel nauseated. Then recently i had a drink of alcohol, and immediately my mouth (lips and tongue) were swollen, along with difficulty breathing. Since then I stopped drinking alcohol, and it didn't happen for awhile until I went to the dentist for a filling. Immediately after she injected me, my lips and tongue started swelling up, and I again had trouble breathing. I also couldn't swallow.
Also, I had severe eczema when I was young, then it dissapeared for awhile, but came back a few months ago when my mother changed the laundry detergent.

Could this be an allergy to sulfates/sulfites (not sure which one)?

Without knowing the ingredients in the various items that caused reactions, it is difficult to tell.

It certainly sounds like your system is very sensative and is in a reactive state. The nausea could be anxiety over expected reactions or it could be a symptom itself. The swelling of the lips and tongue is a concern.

Have you spoken to yor Dr. about this? What did your dentist say? I would suggest switching back to a laundry soap with out perfume or dyes and contact your Dr.

Meanwhile, keep a diary of what you eat/drink and what symptoms you have. You should start to see a pattern. Try to eat simple foods (not processed) as much as possible so there are fewer ingredients to deal with. Remember, you could be dealing with more than one allergy.

Daughter: asthma, allergies to egg, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, most legumes (not soy and green beans) & penicillin. Developing hayfever type allergies.
