I have a friends with a dairy allergy (not lactose intolerance) who has recently started using a product called Lacto that is manufactured by Enzymedica. She says it works wonderfully. I too am allergic to milk protien, but much more severely than she is. My reactions border on anaphalaxis.
Has anyone every heard of Lacto or used it? I'm hesitant to try it because of the fear of it not working and having a serious reaction.
Any comments would be greatly appreicated.

Product Description
Lacto Enzymedica 30 caps
Lacto contain(s)s a high potency lactase along with eight additional enzymes. This lactase enzyme supplement, is formulated for individuals who have difficulty digesting foods that contain Lactose and dairy protein. For meals containing little to no dairy, Digest™ or Digest Gold™ is recommended to support proper digestion and assimilation.

This sounds like a product for those with lactose intolerance who wish to eat foods which contain dairy.

For anyone who has an allergy to dairy, you should be avoiding these foods completely as you could be at risk of an anaphylaxis reaction.

You say your friend has a true allergy and not an intolerance. Hmmm, I would not recommend that either one of you use this product. If you do want to use this product, please check it out with your Dr first.

Daughter: asthma, allergies to egg, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, most legumes (not soy and green beans) & penicillin. Developing hayfever type allergies.
