Anyone headed across the pond may be interested in the following, forwarded by Kim Koeller of the Let's Eat Out! allergy passport book and booklets.

CHESTERFIELD, U.K. – The world’s first international gluten free beer festival will take place February 3rd and 4th, 2006 in Chesterfield, United Kingdom. The pioneering event is being held in conjunction with the Campaign for Real Ale, CAMRA, the key consumer group in the UK dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional pubs, independent breweries and real ale. The Gluten Free Beer Festival is a neutral and global event, with no affiliation to any brewer or organisation.
The gluten-free component of the CAMRA beer festival is being organised by Dr. Steve Ford, event founder, coeliac/celiac and beer lover along with the help of Kim Koeller, coeliac/celiac, founder of GlutenFree Passport and co-author of the Let’s Eat Out! Your Passport to Living Gluten and Allergy Free book series.
Over 15 different gluten-free beers will be represented at the festival from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, UK and the US. Many beers are new and not yet available on the global market. All beers will be reviewed and the results will be available at the conclusion of the festival. This is a “good-news” story for celiacs and is an example of celiacs working together to socialize normally and avoid social isolation through their own efforts.
