I saw these on the shelf the other day and almost passed out. Whose brainchild is this??? How can you give a child a 'peanut' but call it safe? I realize it is a plain marshmallow shaped like a peanut, but come on!! Do you think this is rediculous too??? ... de=dare137

One of the oldest penny candies was the circus peanut. It dates back to the 1800's! ... ct_type=27
Spangler makes a version that is free from the top allergens (it contains pork gelatin) and is made on a separate line from the other products. ... nformation
Believe it or not, this is a candy that many children with food allergies can eat!

It might seem counter-intuitive to you and I but think about gummy worms etc. Perhaps part of the thrill is precisely because they would never eat the real thing! Even Steve Kerr, then vice president of operations for Spangler Candy, said in the article above, "I'm not a big fan."

I alway wondered why they were shaped like a peanuts. Peanut shape not a good thing for children. I have also seen this product shaped like ice cream cones with the ice cream part different colors. When I was pregnant with my first child no cravings but when I was pregnant with my second I could not get enough of these. How bad of me to just want sugar. Never really ate them before, don't ever eat them now but boy when I was PG just seriously wanted bag after bag.
