From Anaphylaxis Canada re Orville Redenbacher popcorn labelling discrepancy.

Dear Registrant,

We recently received a letter from ConAgra Foods Canada for the above mentioned
Orville Redenbacher product regarding the ingredient labeling on their
packaging. There is currently an inconsistency with the ingredient lists
provided on their inner and outer packaging. To clarify this labeling issue,
weve been informed that this product no longer contains soy as an ingredient and
reflects their updated formula for this product.

Please contact ConAgra directly with any questions or comments.

See the letter below for further details.

Recently, there has been some confusion in the package labeling of Orville
Redenbachers Smart Pop Buttery Flavour Microwave Popcorn 24 Bags (UPC code:
58807 48073) due to an inconsistency. ConAgra Foods Canada Inc., makers of
Orville Redenbachers Microwave Popcorn, would like to clarify the ingredient
listing so consumers can continue to enjoy this product and make informed
decisions about their snacking choices.

When reading the ingredient listings on this flavour of our microwave popcorn,
you will note that the outer label declares contains milk, soy and does not
declare butter in the ingredient listing. The inner label does declare butter
and declares contains milk. The inner label is correct, and is an updated
formula. To clarify, the current product contains butter and no longer contains
soy, and those with a sensitivity or allergy to products containing soy can now
enjoy Orville Redenbachers Smart Pop Buttery Flavour. The product with the
label discrepancy is expected to flow through stores by end of March 2007.

At ConAgra, we stand behind the quality of all of our products and will be
correcting this packaging discrepancy over the coming months. For the time
being, we wish to assure all consumers that this product does not contain soy
and urge you to contact us, should you have any remaining questions about the
labeling of these products.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact our Consumer Affairs
department at 1-800-461-4556 Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm EST or by e-mail at

I just saw this posting and I know it is from a little while ago but thought I would pass this info on. My husband purchased some popcorn and as always i rechecked the label before giving any to my daughter. This one listed fish oil. I phoned the company and was told that they cannot guarantee which popcorn has the fish oil. They could only recommend the kernels in the plastic bags that we would have to use a popcorn maker or a pot to prepare the popcorn.

I have not purchased orville popcorn since and have not checked it out any further since then but I am quite dissappointed because it was a nice snack when we have so many allergies to deal with

Daughter Erika ( 12) Allergies: all nuts, peanuts, all legumes, fish, shellfish, bananas, spinach, mulitiple antibiotics, asthma, eczema, heat and exercise reactions. Mulitple environmental allergies
