I am hoping to get some advice on school field trips. An all day ski trip is being organized and I am looking for some advice on how to help my school provide a safe, event free day for the anaphylactic children. I feel comfortable with all the basic steps(my child has multiple food allergies) but would like to hear from anyone who has organized something like this in the past.
Many thanks

This has me curious as well because my daughter's ski trip is approaching. There are at least 4 students with anaphylactic allergies going on her trip.

Our thought was the basics ---- packing her food and reminding her to wash well before eating...

me: allergic to crustaceans plus environmental
teenager: allergic to hazelnuts, some other foods and environmental

Here are the rules we had for these types of field trips.

Rule # 1 - No food allowed on the bus - PERIOD - for anyone! I think this is the most dangerous part of the trip!
Rule # 2 - allergic children only consume food that they bring from home (hand washing is always an expectation)
Rule # 3 - provide extra Epi to First Aid Staff and teacher/supervisor who remains in the Chalet - this is in addition to the Epi that is on the child.
Rule #4 - Have Fun!

adult son allergic to peanuts, most tree nuts, eggs and penicillin.
