I think it's about time!

Wow! I hadn't seen this yet -- it's a large document and I will look through it as soon as I can. What do you think, Pam?

I am very happy that it has been produced. I think everyone who was involved in making it was "on board" and sincerely committed to making the best document possible. There were representatives from both the Education and Health sector as well as both leading allergy groups and a smattering of parents. Some supporting documents are still being worked on and they will be released soon. I imagine that will be things like sample letters schools can put out, and consistant medical forms to use.

I have a feeling it was just put out last night.

I went to bed thinking "our work here is done!" (it was a very nice feeling), and then I woke up 4 hours later thinking "ohmigod, we have so much work to do!"

My concern would be that it is made, but that no one knows that it is made. When I read on the forum that there are still schools in Ontario where the principals are unaware of Sabrina's Law, and that parents are still struggling there to get trained staff and awareness, I get upset. I think we have to make sure this is big news and we should have a media event of some kind. And maybe a big thank you party on the steps of the legislature!!!!!!! I think we should make sure that as many people as possible see the document and that it gets lots of press, if possible.

Let's try and plan something big!

There are definitely schools in Victoria that don't know that this exists, however, you'll be pleased to know that at BCTF Zone Meetings this past weekend it was discussed with health and safety reps from each local.

I think the BCTF Health and Safety Department is just learning about this now. I suggested they look at the Sabrina Law in Ontario and the e-workshop for teachers.

I'm very late chiming in here, but that is a very impressive document.

I agree, though, Pam, that it needs to be distributed far and wide and used as a resource document by all school boards, schools, and parents of kids at risk.
