FYI, CNN will be running a story on Sabrina Shannon, her family and Sabrina's Law, the new Ontario legislation to protect anaphylactic students. CNN travelled from Washington all the way to tiny Pembroke, Ont. to tape the piece. (We weren't making it up when we said Bill 3 was precedent-setting.)

Unless pre-empted by breaking news it is to run on the Paula Zahn show on Tuesday, the 21st at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. Pacific).

Also, from an Anaphylaxis Canada e-bulletin:
Wednesday, June 22, 2005 "That Was Then, This Is Now: A Nutty Tale", CBC Outfront

Four years ago CBC Outfront ran a piece called "A Nutty Tale" produced by then 10-year-old Sabrina Shannon with the assistance of her aunt, Kathleen Whalen. Sabrina interviewed her friends and family about her life with severe food allergies. In 2003 Sabrina died from an anaphylactic reaction at the age of 13. Sabrina's aunt listens back to that documentary and talks about Sabrina's impact and some of the steps being taken to help prevent similar tragedies.

CBC Outfront is on at 11:45 a.m. (12:15 p.m. in Newfoundland) Monday to Thursday on CBC Radio One. Go to:

Slight amendment re CNN. The producer now tells me it will be on the Paula Zahn show on Wednesday (rather than Tuesday) night. Same time.

Sorry all, out in Vancouver with limited Net access ... seems it has been bumped again. (Such is the nature of the changeable lineups of daily shows.) Here's a note that Anaphylaxis Canada sent out on its registry. /G

Dear Registrant,

We apologize for sending yet another notice about a change in scheduling for
Sabrinas Story.

We have just been advised by the producer that it will likely air on Paula Zahn
Now next Tuesday evening (June 28th) same time (8 p.m. EST, 5:00 west coast).

Given the constant updates, we will not send out further messages about this
programme. (You might want to set your machines to tape the program if you're
planning to be out.)

Can CNN stick to a normal schedule like other TV station do?

I almost hesitate to say, but the latest is that CNN is promo-ing the Sabrina piece to run on the Paula Zahn show tonight (Tuesday). That's 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. Pacific.

Wow, they devoted way more time on Sabrina's story than I anticipated. Such a sad story, but it made me happy to see it publicized so widely.

Waah. I couldn't get home to watch in time.

How was it?

What did the story cover? Did it get into the passing of Sabrina's Law?

thanks, Gwen

Here are the show transcripts. Sabina's Law is towards the end.

They did get into the passing of the law, but it was more or less on Sabrina and food allergies in general.
