I'm looking for a new vacuum cleaner. Does anyone out there have a Dyson? Which model number do you have, and how do you like it?

I'm looking for one that works on both hard wood floors as well as carpet, and hopefully one that isn't too heavy to carry up and down stairs.

Thanks! :)

I do not have one, but Consumer Reports did not give it great reviews. I think you can see a copy online at their website, or you may be able to check at your local library. I would love to take a Halo on a test drive to see how they work, as they are supposed to be awesome, but for that price the silly thing would need to plug itself in and vacuum without me!

I have the Dyson DC14 and I love it. The wand is kindof a pain but you cant beat the suction of that vacuum. I also have hardwood floors and it does great! I asked a friend of mine who cleans houses for a living about Dyson before I bought into it and she said they are great and they never do lose suction but Costco has a version that works just as good but alot cheaper. I found my Dyson on clearance at Home Depot for about $200.00. You can also find them on Craigslist sometimes. Good luck!

We test drove a Dyson as well as a Hoover at AL a couple of years ago.

Both HEPA-filtered; both impressive. (I need to get one, too.)
