My little one has been experiencing some "mystery" reactions. I am unsure about when to give benedryl. One dr at the ER said to give the epi if there are issues ( hives, swelling) around the mouth area. Recently she had hives and puffiness around the eye so we gave her benedryl and then I stayed up most of the night to see if she was ok. Does anyone have any advice?

Allergies are getting me down this week.

I would like some info on that too... My little one had a reaction at daycare, hives in the face and arms... Gave her Benadryl and she was fine. I always thought Epi was when things were life threatning, but from what I read lately, it's now considered first response, and we should probably have given it to her then! I'm really confused about this, and even if everyone says it's completely safe, I'm scare of the Epi... :(

Here is the link to a thread that discussed this a while back.
