Post subject:  sunflower seed allergy

Hi-I havent posted for a loooong time so just to recap-my son outgrew his egg anaphylaxis and peanut sensitisation at 3 years and could eat every food without exception until he was 6 1/2 years. He then had in quick sucession (over 6 months) anaphylaxis to sunflower, barley, peanut and pineapple plus almost too many to mention facial and lip swellings to amoung others sesame, soy, multiple nuts, watermelon and others long since able to eat again.
He had multiple episodes of rash/facial swellings to foods that we could never pinpoint.......now he has just turned 11years and over this last year things have dramatically turned around (hugely).
From having spts >25mm most of them have now gone to the point where he has been able to be inpatient food challenged and he has passed every one of them....the only one that is still at a level not able to be challenged is sunflower (although its gone from 25mm to 6mm over the 5 years...he did however fail a sunflower oil challenge but that was 3 years ago).
Question....for those of you who have been dealing with sunflower allergy (he previously had immediate-within seconds-throat swelling to sunflower paste) have you found you have outgrown it and been able to safely consume it???
(Joel is success fully eating peanut, pineapple, barley-all of which he had anaphylaxis to-and all the others he had facial swelllings/hives to)...I have my fingers crossed for crossing his last one of the list!!----he looks wonderful-some switch has been flicked in his immune system and its finally going his way.
