For those of you who reside in the Ottawa/Gatineau area, once again Maison du Chocolat is open and selling very good Peanut/Nut Free Easter Chocolate. The chocolate is from Giacomo & Freres Chocolat in Montreal. This year Maison du Chocolat is located on Jeanne D'Arc Blvd, at the corner of St. Joseph, where the Burger King used to be. They are only open in the couple of weeks leading up to Easter. They have milk chocolate and dark chocolate. I bought some last year for my daughter and it is very good. It taste much better than the chocolate from Vadeboncoeur (available at Shoppers, Loblaws, etc.), which I find tastes like melted semi-sweet chocolate chips.

The chocolate at Maison du Chocolat is more expensive, but I find its worth it. They will be open for the remainder of this week, and they should be open on Good Friday (they were last year) and on Saturday. If you want to call them for their hours, the number is 613-837-6500. They sell other brands of chocolates there as well. I know that the ones made by Giacomo & Freres are Peanut/Nut free, but I don't know about the other ones. The staff is knowledgeable and will be able to answer your questions.

They also carry diabetic chocolate.
