|Post subject:||Fruit intollerance??|
I've just joined the forum as I wanted to ask about something I have been experiencing for a few years now.
I know I need to eat healty and I try to eat at least 2 to 3 pieced of fruit a day. But... whenever I eat fresh fruit I get bloated and have stomach ache.
It seems I don't have this problem with cooked fruit and it is not so bad if I have something like a smoothie so I'm wondering if I can't digest fresh fruit.
Does this sound reasonable?
Does anyone know what I can do to allow me to eat fresh fruit?

Hi, glad you found us!
Do you find that with all fruits or just some?
Do you find the same thing with vegetables?
Allergic Living Magazine's Spring 2009 covered the topic of Oral Allergy Syndrome. I'm not sure if this fits your symptoms but you can read some of the articles by following the links below:

As far as I am aware it's all fruit although I seem to automatically steer clear of some fruits.
Apples give me rumbles almost instantly and oranges are fairly quick too. Unless bananas are at a certain level of ripeness they feel like lead in my stomach.
Grapes seem to be ok so long as I don't eat a lot and things like strawberries and raspberries are ok too.
Trying to think what other fruits are like.
I also found that dried fruit blow me up like a balloon, I wonder if they are even harder to digest for me?
I tend not to eat raw veg but I don't seem to remember having the same problems. I've eaten lots of celery to treat cystitis before and don't remember anything other than the usual lasting nasty taste.
I'll have a go at eating some raw carrots to see if it does the same thing.
Thanks for the links.

Have looked at the OAS link you posted.
Although I think I may have this for some cheesees this isn't what I have with raw fruit. It's all in my stomach.
Thanks anyway though.
