I'm glad I'm not the only grown-up who's excited!

We have gone Harry Potter crazy at my house! Even though my sons aren't old enough to read/ listen to every part of the books, they're just old enough to get caught up in all the hype, and I love the books too.
So we are gearing up for the big day. The decorations go up this week (they had a HP birthday party 2 years ago, and we have lots of props, posters etc.). We're doing some HP arts and crafts, like making a paper mache goblet of fire, and we're making treacle tarts, pumpkin pasties and chocolate frogs for the big night. My sons will be making a valiant attempt to stay up until midnight at the book launch party at Assiniboine park (although I have a feeling we'll be buying our books the next morning...midnight is awfully late when you're only 7!).

1 son allergic to eggs, peanuts, green peas, chick peas, lentils and tomatoes
(avoiding tree nuts and most other legumes too)
1 son allergic to eggs, and has outgrown peanuts
Both with many environmental allergies, asthma and eczema

Wow my two oldest and I go to the 10pm harry party at our book store and walk out with a copy of the book before 1am. They are excited to go as well. I can't wait either.

I pre-ordered from Chapters and am really looking forward to my copy!!

A few years ago I read the first two books to my oldest... and was ready to start reading the third one the other night, except that my youngest vigourously protested that he would be scared the whole time! So we read a Captain Underpants book...

I will have to find some time to read the third one to my oldest, because we have a good time doing that.
