This is the Soy free version of my burger attempts, which I post here because its free of most of the common food allergies, including sunflower and sesame seeds. Garbanzo beans never used
to be my favorite bean due to its dryness. However, a fortuitous motto I had, said that if I didn't like a particular food item, its because I didn't cook it right. This was so true of the Garbanzo bean! I now crave the bean, and can't seem to keep it in the house. (For those who are allergic to all seeds and legumes, this contains both.) Yes, I own the copyright, but give you free permission to post this any wheres you like and will I will eventually post on my own site. [Heads up! Ener-G Egg replace contains Calcium lactate, which can come from corn, so I am not using it in this recipe.]

For those with a Corn allergy, I would use Organic Vegetables, and Organic dry garbanzo beans, washed and soaked yourself. Feel free to play around with the spices to see what works for you.

Garbanzo Burger Recipe

DF, EF, FF, SHF, NF, GF, CF, TNF, OF, GaF, SF, Kyt Friendly
Contains Flax Coriander and Cumin Seeds, Legumes

You can double the batch, and get great results.
Serves 4 - 6.

Prep time: 10 minutes, approximately.
Cook time: 6 minutes per pan full of burgers, approximately


2 15oz. cans Garbanzo Beans, drained well
1/2 tsp. Cumin
1/2 tsp.  Coriander
1/2 tsp. Basil Leaf
1/2 tsp.  Marjoram
1/2 tsp. Cilantro Leaves
1/4 tsp. Ground Cardamom
1/4 tsp.  Rosemary
2 tsp. Ginger 
Sea salt (to taste)
Tellicherry Black Pepper - Coarse ground (to taste)
2 TB ground Flax Seed in 3 TB of water, mixed well.

How to Make:

1) Garbanzo beans: Mash these. Drain as much water out as possible. Use a cheese cloth, if necessary.

2) Combine the spices, Flax seed paste, tofu and garbanzo beans. Add a little bit of
Instant mashed potatoes, if needed to get rid of the extra liquid.

3) Form into patties and fry in a little bit of Olive Oil, over medium-high heat.

4) When the bottom side is crispy, turn over, and fry the other side.  It take
about 3 minutes or so per side. (Approximately. I'm working on a bad stove,
so had to keep adjusting the temperature.)

Add chopped Fresh Organic spinach
Add chopped Organic veggies of your choice.
--> Its best to use a cheese cloth to get rid of as much of the extra liquid as possible in vegetables. I'd add this liquid to a soup.

Serve with:
Any Brown Rice dish, Dal, Vegetable. This would even be good with GF Spaghetti
or other Italian meals.
