I posted before that I had purchased an ice cream maker, and was looking for a really good recipe. I can not seem to find the previous discussion. I found this recipe in a food allergy cookbook. I am extremely happy with how well it works, and how it does not freeze into a rock, like the other recipes I tried did.

1 cup soy milk
2 egg replacements
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups nutriwhip
2 tsp vanilla

In a saucepan, combine egg replacement and sugar. Add soy milk snd cook over medium heat until mixture thickens slightly; cool. Blend in nutriwhip and vanilla. Chill several hours or overnight. Follow ice cream makers directions to freeze "ice cream" or simply pour into a container and freeze, stirring occasionally, while freezing so mixture does not become too hard.

Variations: To make chocolate chip " ice cream", add 1/3 cup chocolate chips to the mixture as it begins to freeze.

You can also add various flavors of nestles quik, or just about anything you can come up with, that you are not allergic too.

I also want to try "blizzards" with oreos.

Here is the link to the ice cream maker I have. It works really well. You just have to turn the handle every 2 or 3 minutes for 1/2 an hour.

Just thought I'd let everyone know, I looked into this ice cream maker by calling Wilton's 1-800-794-5866 to see where they sell it in Canada and was told that it was discontinued. :(

I ordered mine from http://goldaskitchen.com/, I oder lots of kitchen/baking supplies from here, maybe they still have one, or maybe a similar one. I had also seen them at michaels craft stores.

If you type "ice cream makers" into the search on goldas kitchen web site, quite a few come up. They all seem to be electric, and do the mixing for you, after you freeze the bowl. That would be better. Maybe it was discontinued because the electric ones were more popular and much easier.

This is the only place I have ever ordered from online. It was recommended by wilton, for ordering in canada. Products arrived in just a few days, and have always been correct and I have had no problems associated with giving them my credit card number.

I used 1 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp water and 1 tsp baking powder = 1 egg, mix seperately and then add to recipe. Other people like to use a powdered replacement, but the oil/water/baking powder works great in this recipe.

Have you tried the flavored soy milk in your recipe saskmommyof2 or do you use the omega 3--I bought a kitchenaid ice cream/sorbert and yogurt maker to try

We bought this Hamilton Beech ice cream maker last May/June for Fathers Day. We got it t Wal-Mart. We have been very happy with it.

We tried this recipe last night. It was really good. When it was first made it was much like Dairy Queen soft icecream but it did firm up nicely.
I might try to make Ice Cream sandwhiches with this ice cream, graham crackers and possibly melted chocolate (although that last part sounds pretty messy).

I like to make Italian ice at home. You can boil sugar to turn it into a syrup texture, add a bit of syrup for added flavor and freeze.

I love this recipe! I use 2 tbsp of cornstarch instead of 2 egg replacers because that's pretty much all it is and it works very well.

I love this ice cream! It's good with pumpkin or apple pie.
Nutriwhip is similar to Rich Whip.

This is my favourite ice cream recipe! It's also the favourite ice cream of many of my daughter's friends (who don't have allergies).
