Post subject:  controlled asthma now acting up!

I have adult onset asthma (20+ years). My asthma has been extremely well controlled for the past few years.I've hardly needed my rescue inhaler. I have mild seasonal allergies with no prescribed meds. A week ago I had my first real "attack". Airways were blocked and took a trip to the ER for nebulizer plus meds. I have no idea what caused this - I was fine when I went to bed, with not even a wheeze. Woke up at midnight and could hardly get any air. Scared the bejeepers out of me! Has anybody els had a major affect to their asthma. wondered if it could be all of the pollen tht is covering everything in sight this year.

Follow up with your allergist. If your GP is treating your allergies, ask to be referred to an allergist or respirologist. GP's simply cannot stay current on the research and treatment options.

Breathing is integral to your health and quality of life!

You may need a maintenance medication during allergy season.
