Got this from the Lung Association today. Good lobbying strategy....

Leaders’ Debate 2008: Make lung health matter!

On October 2, 2008, the five major political party leaders will take part in the 2008 Federal Leaders Debate. This will be the English-language debate.

The moderator is TVO’s Steve Paikin and he is taking suggestions on what questions he should ask the party leaders.

The Lung Association wants to raise lung health in this national forum.

We need your help!!

Email Steve Paikin - - and request that he ask the party leaders:

“If elected, will you support funding for Canada’s first national action plan on lung health – the National Lung Health Framework?”

Canadians need:
A national action plan for lung health;
Cleaner air so we can all breathe easier;
More research funding into ways to prevent, treat and manage lung disease.

Email Steve Paikin now – ask the leaders to commit to improving the lung health of Canadians!!

Remember: It only takes a minute to get involved – and by doing so you can help make the fight against lung disease a key issue in this campaign!

Ask your candidates where they stand – Send a message now - ...

Established in 1900, The Lung Association is one of Canada’s oldest and most respected health charities, and the leading national organization for science-based information, research, education, support programs and advocacy on lung heath issues.

I've sent both letters and it was interesting to see who responded back quickly...and who hasn't.
