I just came across a site that I hadn't seen before, called Allergy Translation, and thought it would be of interest to allergic travellers.

They say:

"We provide online food allergy and special diet language translations into credit card-sized dietary cards to be used at restaurants, grocery stores, hotels and catered events."

More details at

According to the website, the brains behind AllergyTranslation Inc. is a man named Kyle Dine, who is anaphylactic to all nuts and allergic to other common foods such as eggs and shellfish. And yet he still manages to travel quite a bit.

The website says:

"After experiencing an anaphylactic reaction first-hand, he has been dedicated to providing solutions to make life easier for all who have food allergies and dietary restrictions."

The product isn't expensive - so perhaps it would be of interest to those of you who travel and can't avoid eating out.

Thanks Karen for this valuable info.

I must say I recently purchased the book "Let's Eat Out! Your Passport to Living Gluten and Allergy Free, by Kim Koeller & R La France, and I must say I found it quite repetitive. The book could probably be half the size if the repetitive parts were removed
