My RAST results for latex was .13 KU/L which my allergist called a high class 1/ low class 2. I have had anaphylatic reactions before for latex, so it is definitely positive. The scale on my test results goes:

.08-.15 class 1
.16-.50 class 2
.51-2.5 class 3
2.51-12.5 class 4
12.51- 62.5 class 5
62.51- 100+ class 6

This scale is different than some RAST scoring guided I've seen. The ones I've seen online starts a class 1 at .35 KU/L. Is the scoring different for different allergens or is this just erring on the safe side?

Allergic to: Latex, resulting in allergies to banana, avocado, kiwi, and melon.

Hopefully someone who knows a lot can chime in, but I am confused as there are different types of blood tests, including RAST and IgE, and I believe the results are read slightly differently. I had thought previously that the terms were interchangeable, but they are not.

My children had 'Specific IgE' tests done, and the table says:

Under .35 KU/L undetectable
.36 - .69 Low
.70 - 3.49 Moderate
3.5 - 17.49 High
Over 17.5 Very High

My kids were tested for peanuts, tree nuts and egg.

Perhaps the charts you saw online were for IgE, as my chart starts at .35?

DD 2004 Allergy to peanuts, egg, sesame, and new: lentils and chick peas
DS 2006 Allergy to peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, kiwi fruit, eczema
